Why the majority of people go for a Black Berry instead of other phones (In SA)

I was just wondering why most people in SA would go for a Black Berry instead of the usual Nokia, Samsung or Sony Ericsson seeing as those phones are also not too bad as well. :wtf:

The cost of internet and sms, where BIS (unlimited internet) and Blackberry messenger makes it very attractive
 
BBM + BIS.

The only reason. Otherwise, other phones are far superior
 
Yes, lots of better phones. Value for money is however a key priority for SA consumer.
 
I personally think Black Berry's are a bit over rated, every one is catching on with it and soon more and more people will have them, it might even be the only phone around :wtf:
 
Facebook is the single biggest reason that my SP identified why women are switching to Blackberry - in our area its mostly women who use BB. My wife has a hair salon and in the last month she has noticed more and more of her clients switching to BB becuase of Facebook and IM chat.

Not only will my wife be getting her Blackberry next month (upgrade) but her other two staff members are also in the process of getting theirs. My neighbour was telling me yesterday that her dad is giving her a Blackberry for birthday on Tuesday and you guess it, because of Facebook and IM.
 
Basically the only two reasons reasons are because of firstly BBM, and secondly, BIS.
 
I use the iPhone, and my next will probably be an android, though I too must confess I'm envious of the BB Internet service. Now however , the R150 for 2 gig of data, that all 3 of the networks are offering, makes the other smartphones a useful competitor to BBs only advantage.

Most people in SA go for "Black Berry" because black is the new white and the majority is always right?

Will that work for you?
 
Cos we get raped by the data charges in sa. I just got my 9780 last monday(and I'm mclovin it) my wife gets hers in july, nephew and neice got theirs today and in all likekyhood my bro will get one in a few months....hell, in one family that's 5 bb's. As much as I like android os, I still think its not feasible in SA. In the UK android conttacts some with at a min 500mb, apart from CellC here we get 30mb for 3 months...whooohooo that's all u ever need for an android phone!
BB will do FANTASTICALLY well in SA cos of BIS-that is all
 
Cuz they are thought of as 'smartphones'.. and that label seems to be cool although I lol at it. Also 'free' stuff (BIS, BBM), South Africans love free stuff.

Then you get all these fancy colours and stuff.
