My good friend returned from UK some 9 days ago and found his
dial-up modem blown and a dead telkom line.

He does little browsing and mostly business mail which is quite important
in his specialised business.

Anyway, he called telkom 9 days ago to report a dead line and request it
be fixed and purchased a new 56K modem.

Yesterday, in total frustration he called in iBurst - the business could not
sustain any further losses.

Today his iBurst is installed - yep, they tested the signal.

He's just waiting - maybe 1 hour he said for authentication.

Telkom, watch out - people are even prepared to pay more than your ridiculous dsl prices and speed just to have service.
You just lost another R700 per month and it's happening all over the country,
cause your service sucks.

btw. Telkom still have not pitched

Why would people not use Sentech? Their problems they used to have are sorted out (as far as I know) and you have a 20gb cap

I can confirm that statement As I have a 256k connection and it is running as advertised

Sentech damaged their reputation with all the crap they threw at the consumers when they started. This left a bitter taste for most people and it would need a very tempting offer to get these people back.

This is exactly what Telkom are doing at present. So many people are sick to their stomachs with all of Telkom's bullsiht that once the SNO offers a comparable service all the rats will jump ship! Once again it will take a lot to get all those Telkom haters back - like - 5 MB connection without CAP for R300 total!! UNSHAPED of course.........

I used Sentech back in the day (last year may ) and they really sucked back then. Glad to hear they have improved. The one thing they have going for them is installation times. If you don't need stable pings etc think the wireless okes might be the answer....
