Print Head for Canon i550

My Canon i550 stoped printing and its status monitor says the printer is not responding. And the light on the printer gives seven orange flashes, which according to the User Guide means its Print Head is defective. :(

I want to know where I could get a print head for it for a reasonable price? Because I phoned a place in PE that stock Canon Print heads, but there it costs R650!:eek: Which IMO isnt wourth it, and I'd rather spend R1000 and get a new better printer.

So is there anyone that knows about a place where I could get a Canon i550 Print Head for less than R500? :confused:

I think you will find with the lower range of printers like your i550 and even my own earlier model the S750, it is best to just buy a new printer as the cost of a new printer head is not much less than the cost of a whole new printer.

Also the new printer will come with 4 Ink Tanks which is worth about R300.00 at wholesale prices.

Thats what i'm proberly goin to do, i just wanted sure whether i might be able to get a print head cheaply, but it doesnt seem so. So chances are that i'll get an IP4200 or something similar.
 
Buy a new printer, I can get you the head for R549 .00 but really its not worth it.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH YOUR OLD I550 PRINTER???I AM IN KNYSNA AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT FOR SPARES
