Icasa to review telecoms industry progress at conference

...talk about starting from a fundamentally false premise
 
Well considering TELKOM refuses absolutely to allow any voip from other providers into it's network that's a beautiful piece of weaponry right there.

Think a beautiful parallel can be
It's one thing to say that you have a democracy and another for the govermetn to ensure it.

DOC says you may use voip.........but no one can interface into the networks.
 
Another meeting, conference, colloquium, whatever you useless farts.
It's nothing more than a social get together between industry bum chums.
 
Should be a short meeting.
What did we do ?
1 - Opened up some opportunities for licencing of operators in some townships so that thec can provide communication facilities.
Yea Yea - slap on back - Yea Yea !!!
Was it succesful ?
Um - the people that applied ended up just re-selling cellular products.
Oh.
2 - VOIP was free'd for use across all VOIP networks by anybody.
Yea Yea - slap on back - Yea Yea !!!

Um - Telkom introduced shaping on their international broadband services so that the VOIP quality would be so bad as to be unusable.
Oh.
3 - .... Um Um .... We renamed some stuff ... we had some paid for expensive meetings ... no ? Nothing ?

It's a joke.

Yet another excuse to waste the public's money.

If ICASA spent more time actually regulating and less time talking crap, maybe, just maybe we'd see some real improvements on the ground.
