Hi everyone,

I've been browsing on the net a little and I think I'm going to give online dating a shot.

I haven't tried anything like this before, but I think it could be interesting.

Does anyone have advice or success stories to share?

Also, there seems to be so many sites - care to recommend some?

Thanks :)

Lol atleast you'll always know where she is and what she's doing you know... AND you won't need to take her out on an actual date.

Very valid points, I will remember to add that to my profile - "must have NO criminal record".

"won't need to take her out on an actual date" <<-- Where's the fun in that?

Seeing that the two of you get along so well, why don't you meet up? Problem solved.

Lol it's not the date that's important, it's what comes after the date. :)

But on a more serious note lol, I've never done the online dating thing so I won't be able to help you.

LOL, hmm - might be an option ;)

Sure, but I'm looking for a girlfriend, someone I can share moments with, spoil, get to know, enjoy dates with etc etc.

Lol sure sounds like a good idea... that's if he knows where lalaland is.

I've been there - I do get my sleep :D

I can tell you that there are some nice women on Datingbuzz, but I gave up on that. Back to praying.

I've been trying it on an off for a couple of years. Had bugger all luck. In SA online dating is pretty much dead.
I've never used a site where you have to pay to send messages though, but I think they would actually be worse because the person you're contacting also needs to be a paying member.

In a major city in a first world country it would work better.

Thanks, I'm off to have a look - holding thumbs - hopefully some profiles close to my area!

Yes, I agree with the first world part.

Joining a paid site might not be a bad idea though, might help to keep quality members.

Go pickup girls at varsity that is unless you are looking for a cougar.

LOL, I've been told that before (varsity girls) and yes I have a few Varsity girls - but all friends and that's it.

Tried to get serious with one of them, we went out to a local club with a group of friends, her and I had a good time together (danced, sort of connected) and the next day I invited her out to movies - was a bust. Chatted and discussed it a little and she was like "I'm not looking for a relationship right now". Well she had just got out of a 2 year relationship that went bad.

Varsity is one option, where else are good places? Online just seems like a good option as its way less stressful.

PS: no, no cougars thanks. But a few years older might not be a bad thing, have a few older female friends that are great, one is 27 and shes great - but getting out of a divorce now.
