I'm a long time Cell C customer delving in the world of MTN for the first time to help a friend that is on MTN Pre-Paid.
I may be wrong - maybe there is some obscure MTN portal - but I'm really quite surprised that MTN Pre-Paid customers have no online service where you can check your airtime balance, check recharge history, maybe last 5 calls details, a 10 line summary to check where your pre-paid airtime has been used - all the basic pre-paid info one would like to see? If you use the Vodacom Customer portal or Cell C MyTools you will know what I mean.
Yes, you can get ringtones, download music, send a free sms, find out who I am and what cell phone I'm using on the very simplistic MyMTN portal but it is basically there to make money - for you to spend - no nuts-and-bolts services or information.
The MTN Active is for Contracts - I guess as they pay for itemized billing they get the benefit, but a 'lite' version of MTN Active for Pre-Paid customers?

with their awesome MYTools is light years away!
This is one reason I would never go MTN pre-paid even if their service or network is awesome.
