Data recovery- Does anyone know of a free bootable linux data recovery OS?

I saw one being used on a corrupt HDD, it loaded from a cd. Didn't pickup the name. I't scaned the whole HDD and readable data was extracted. Does anyone know of one?

I've found miniPE to be a useful disk in my collection - http://jacksonian.ca/brian/info/miniPE.htm - even fits on one of those small cd's.
 
As per Stepper post, I found Knoppix a great distro that can be run from a disk which gives you the ability to read the HDD, but failing actually being able to access the data, I would recommend the Ultimate Boot Disk as well as this has many applications that are useful in assisting to gain access to corrupt disks.
 
Hell if you don't like linux just get BART, it's also live (runs from CD) and it's based on windows XP.

I take it you are referring to BartPE
 
SuSE is nice for windows users thoug... If I were to go linux, I would use a Debian boot CD... I don't like Linux GUI's
