The Volunteer Wildfire Services Trail Challenge will be held on Sunday, 19 June 2011.
Set in Table Mountain National Parks and established in 2005, the VWS Trail Challenge is back again this year to test the mettle of avid trail runners (and walkers). Boasting scenic views, the challenge offers runners a chance to do two routes: 25km or 10km.
Run and organised by volunteer wildfire firefighters under the VWS Banner, all proceeds over costs from the entry fees will be put towards the Volunteer Wildfire Services, an entirely volunteer-run, non-profit organisation dedicated to the protection of biodiversity and the preservation of our natural heritage. Any donations are welcome and would be greatly appreciated.
This year the route has moved and the race Start and Finish will be located in Deer Park, Vredehoek. Only 150 spots are available for the 10km, and 250 spots for the 25km, so book soon to claim your spot.
Online entries close on Friday, 17 June, subject to availability. Entries on the day are subject to spots being available.

07:15 for the 25km run (cut-off 4 hours)

Pre-Registration will be held on Thursday, June 16 from 17h30 – 20h00 at Newlands Fire Base, Newlands Forest.
