Hitachi HDDs, where to purchase? Looking for 2.5" 250GB

Hi all,

Does anyone know a reseller of Hitachi 2.5" HDDs? I am in contact with the importer of Hitachi drives for SA, but still waiting for information.

Or if anyone has a 2.5" 250GB SATA they are willing to sell, they often ship in Dell notebooks.

no one is currenty importing Hitachi drives into South Africa , as they are over priced -AFAIK

Thanks Ponder. I think my efforts are in vain though as I'm after a drive model that is 2 years old. I should get a reply from the importer tomorrow, but I'm not hopeful. I'll probably have to end up importing from the States. Bleh.

eBay...
 
eBay can only get you so far sometimes. I've found a really great service, it's not cheap (R2,000 a year) but it's just what I need.
 
You probably need the drive for recovery , just a guess by looking at your siggie .

Other than that , I wouldn't trust Hitachi hdd's as far as I can throw them . I bought 3 brand new 2Tb Ultrastars ( supposedly Enterprise class hardware ) last year and all of them have bad sectors now , all 3 running in different machines with different brands and types of motherboards ( so the issue isn't motherboard or PSU related ) .

HTS723225L9A362. Some codes on the label would need to match as well.
Have a good overseas source for future reference.
