Saphire HD5770 vs XFX HD5830

I have a friend who is wanting to swap me his new HD5830 for my s'hand HD5770 and I must pay the difference of approx. R600.

Now is the HD5830 really that much of a difference in card for the previous one?
Will I notice it?

I have checked Tom's Hardware for any comparisons and can't really find anything substantial. Has anyone had much experience with these two cards?

Not worth it. Rather sell your card and buy a 6850

HD5830 is sucky, didnt even bother adding it to my charts

You'll see from those that the HD5830 isn't much better than the HD5770, so it's most definitely not worth to trade it.

yoh your friend is tricksy... take the R600 out of the equation and then you have a deal

though that 5830 has pretty bad resale value due to its reputation (as seen above).

I won't do it.
In my opinion, XFX makes better cards than Saphire. But thats not the issue here. The difference is too small for you to make this a reasonable swap. I say: Keep your card.
