3 to 4 pin FAN connector converter

Guys

Just want to know if anyone know where I can get one of these in Cape town area..

Cause I am thinking about getting a fan... but think the one that I'm going for doesn't come with one of these, and I dont' have any 3-pins on my MB

So if anyone knows, please help..

Chaos
Computer maina

The 3pins fit on 4 pins and visa versa as far as I know.. You just don't get the PWM functionality..

Just to clarify, you not talking about molex connectors hey?

I have a better one though..

it changes one 4 pin to 4-3 pins

So yeah.. pretty awesome~ Different colour has different voltages.. so yeah..

kaisterkai, at this point I want any kind. There is nothing out there. I've even gone so far as to look for the individual components to make my own but the female molex connector is a rip-off (R5 for 1).

Could you post a pic of what you mean? (These connectors can be confusing to explain in words).

Also where can I find it :p

Btw. thanks for responding, I was thinking of sending you a PM to ask if/how you got sorted :)

I dont' know if the image would come through.. But the product name is: ZM-MC1, if you gooogle image it, you'll see it..

mm.. I brought it from one of my friends company for like R35... Was deprerate, and R35 is like nothing.. so yeah..

If you want, I can try to organize one for you :D

Ah that is the Zalman connector. Yeah I wanted one of those but all the retailers are out of stock which means the supplier is out of stock :(

If you can find one (ideally 3) let me know! :)

Mm.. Well currently I have one with me, because when I bought it, I bought 2.. so using on.. and the other one is still in box..

So you want 3?
mm.. I'll ask my friend again, and then see what happens :D
 
Bit far for me but I've found all the base components to make such a connector on the RS electronics site (the SA one), but it would cost around R35 anyway to make a connector like that Zalman.

Well don't go out of your way, if you hear something, let me know please :)

Else no problems, I'm "extorting" some guys at work for some connectors :p looks like I might come away with a few.
