A 32-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the death of her baby in Sekgosese, Limpopo police said on Tuesday.

"The 14-month-old baby girl was allegedly thrown alive into a pit toilet at Lemondokop village in Sekgosese [on Sunday]," Lieutenant Colonel Mohale Ramatseba said.

"It is alleged the suspect later burnt the child with papers," he said.

The charred body was discovered by police on Monday after a tip-off from a nearby resident.

Ramatseba said the mother might have been under strain as she had five other children to look after.

Yes, because in first world countries where abortion is legal, this sort of thing happens all the time. :erm:
 
The question is why these people are not using contraception and abortion before it goes this far. There should be no reason to resort to these pre-contraception, pre-abortion methods of dealing with an unwanted child.

Takes a very evil and heartless kind of bastard to burn a baby to death. If you must, wrap it in a towel and leave it outside the nearest hospital or clinic. I hope they find this b$tch and throw her behind bars for the rest of her life.

Just realized it wasn't a newborn, baby was 14 months old!

Julias wants them to 'breed for the revolution' so someone else will have to take up the slack now.

Must be a cultural thing.

Yeah. Same thing. A blob of cells is exactly like a human baby. We shouldn't be murdering those poor tissue cultures either because by this logic they're also the same as a baby. :erm:

That doesn't mean a living breathing human is the same as what is at the time a blob of cells. The baby has a fully formed nervous system and brain. It is able to process things that the blob of cells can't. Burning it up like that is not even close to comparable to an abortion. To even attempt to compare them is an insult to, and a failure to recognise, the pain and misery this baby had to suffer through.

Yes that blob of cells has the potential to become a living breathing human but at that point it isn't one yet in any practical way.
