How many times have you had to reinstall BF2?

OMG, this is like the 10th time I am resinstalling the mamoth game. I really really love playing it, but the resintalls are getting a little tireseome. With almost every patch (and today's reinstall happened cause i tried to installed the Special Forces expansion).

I notice that the people who I play with have also had to resinstall multiple times, anyone else having to do this painful resinstall?

i've given up on EA and BF2. they just cannot seem to release good software. there are much more enjoyable things to do than stare at you pc while reinstalling or having to figure what the hell the guys at EA wants you to do to fix their bugs.

if the game doesnt crash to desktop, it has punkbuster issues. bah, nuff with this schlepp.

Holding thumbs, that while it sometimes takes forever to load, and occassionally reboots my pc, I haven't reinstalled once yet.

Okay, my issue just esculate. Cause special forces messed up my installation, I have uninstalled the whole game. I then reinstalled just the original game, and ran the 1.12 patch... games starts loading, but before it gets to the cheesy corporate branding, the game just dies. No errors...niks... any ideas?

EDIT: Resolved this issue. Resinstalled patch again seemed to work.

I do have one problem though and that is that i cant play singleplayer:eek:

I've reinstalled twice. Once - because it was a "new" computer, and second tim e to solve SF issues.

hmmm - what do you guys do to your systems. I've only installed BF2 once, done the 103 patch and the 112 patch, installed SF and the 112 patch again and not a day's trouble

Same for me. Not a single reinstall....... yet

Or we don't notice the 4second load time or 0.3fps difference, because we're not running rigs that require nitrogen cooling and NASA approval ;)

I've got 2 identical machines.
On the one, a bud plays his copy of BF2, and we've updated in sync and stuff.

And about 2 weeks ago it rejected his CD key - no matter what he did - he had to reinstall. Mine continued to work 100% fine. There is no difference between the 2 machines except for the machine-name.

Now that's just plain wierd.

Now - I've installed SF, but when I try to connect to a server, it says my SF version is too high.
