Hey there

I'm going on my first overseas business trip soon to Singapore for a few days and then passing through Hong Kong for a day as well but may be too busy in HK for any tourist activities. I was just wondering if there's anyone here that has been to Singapore? Obviously the first thing I thought of was buying cheap stuff but have no idea whats possible / available, what to avoid, etc. I've taken a look online and it looks like there's a sale on at the shopping centers but I think its mostly fashion stuff - clothing and accessories etc. What do you think could be worthwhile to get while I'm over there - the best deals etc.?

Are there any interesting places to shop/visit/eat at or things to do that you might recommend while I'm over there?

Just check the prices of drinks before you order them anywhere, or the bill will give you a heart attack.
I'm not exaggerating, expect an alcoholic drink at a restaurant or bar to cost at least 10 times more than SA.

I only spent a few hours there though, just had a quick trip to the city between my flights as I stopped over there.

lol @ Orchard Street.

If Louis Vuitton, Fendi and Gucci are what you are after, then go to Orchard Street.

If everything else is what you are after, then don't go there.

It's a tiny place dude, metro rail is awesome, so google what you want, and you can get there easily within 15mins from wherever you are. There are plenty of multi storey malls and buildings that are like massive flea markets, including the Chinese Market which has all the tech stuff. Use the power of google, then go there.

I <3 Singapore. go party at Clark Quay at night, and visit Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi etc...its a blast.
