Below is an ad, I'm lost on this one. In all my job hunting seasons i would ignore this like the plague! who writes up these specs...
you either want a developer or a designer or a 6!tch [bring you own KY]...

Web Developer/Designer [bricklayer / architect]
Summary:
The Web Developer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the existing infrastructure [maintainance/handy man] as well as develop new technologies [ creator ], website and user online platforms [who else users stuff besides users].
The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organization abilities [brown nose].
A candidate for this position must be able to work in a varied, fast paced environment [impossible in regards to point 1 below]. Flexibility and tolerance is a necessity [ for what].
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
1· Develop new Web applications as identified by supervisor and management through packaged and customized applications.[get it from both ends]
2· Create a company-wide Intranet, allowing data manipulation for each internal staff member. [from scratch?]
3· Maintain and enhance Web applications and all internal systems are integrated. [what]
4· Candidate must be a team player and willing to teach and to learn. [educator/]
5· Have experience in Joomla. [browsing or developing]

The Ideal candidate will also possess the following skills:
6· Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines. [nonsense, teamwork my left nut]
7· Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications. [helpdesk]
8· Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized. [urhm]
9· Experience with hardware and software issues. [techie]
10· Proficient in Internet related applications such as E-mail clients, FTP clients and Web Browsers. [get out of here]
11· Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills. [mangement]

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
12· Must possess superior skills in ColdFusion7 +. [pokemon powerup]

14· Must possess strong skills in Object Oriented ColdFusion Development. [see 12]

who writes them? Some recruitment agency who have no idea about the industry and have a thing for buzz words
 
Some people actually fit this description, believe it or not, within reason. I think AcidRazor, for eg, is one who does (from what I have read him posting, anyways). BUT, and this is the rub, when you apply for this kind of post and send the exact matching qualifications, you get the reply that you are over qualified or that the position is junior or that the position, while senior, pays at a junior level. That F!#%$ me off!
