Signature on Marriage Certificate

I just received our marriage certificate today and it has a dotted line at the bottom with Director-General: Home Affairs written under it. Looks like a place that needs a signature. Ours isn't signed, just stamped by the department of home affairs.

Can anyone that got married recently please check whether theirs is signed?

Which Marriage Certificate? There are three...
The hand written one the marriage officer gave you on the day of the wedding.
The Full certificate you get from Home Affairs.
The Abridged certificate you get from Home Affairs.

I doubt that it is a problem that it is not signed. As long as they have your details correct it indicates that your marriage is properly registered on the database.
The stamp shows that it is official. But if it really bugs you, take it back and ask them to sign in.
Surely you should have asked them that as they handed it to you? Did you not check it when you received it?

I'm not sure which certificate this is, probably the abridged one, it's basically got our names, ID numbers DOB's and the place of marriage on it.

Our pastor organized the certificate for us, I just collected it this afternoon, didn't have a look until I got home.

Nah, I'm gonna leave it unsigned, might have its advantages in future! :D
