Mail & Guardian intern suspended for anti-Semitic Facebook comments

To even remotely glorify anything that Hitler did... that's far enough off the mark.
 
I'm normally a bit suspicious when I hear "anti-semitic" or "hate speech" being thrown around, since these days just about any bloody thing anyone says is called "hate speech". But this:

This ignorant dumbass deserves everything he gets. Just the fact that he says "You're all a bunch of X" is the very definition of racism/whateverism. Reminds me of a certain Yout leak leadah's comments actually.

if this was said we need to know what the other ppl said cos if what they said was really racists should they not be fired also, for inflammatory remarks?

Yes, trying to justify/excuse what the Nazis did takes a lot of gusto and the backlash is justified. What amuses me is how the same treatment is never afforded to those who justify/excuse the actions of the Soviet Union; the original killer state.

Yeah ghoni should open up a case of hate speech against me too because I'm muslim so by default I hate jews according to his logic,lets see if a judge holds that up or instead we can counter prosecute him:whistle:

Oh and while you at it ghoni go ahead and open up that case for the rest of the muslims in the world since by your logic ISLAM hates jews.....:wtf:

Yes, I'm a Jew who doesn't agree with the existence of a 'Jewish' country (Israel) just like I don't agree with the idea of an Afrikaaner country or a Zulu one or a Muslim one or any such idea that a country should be for a specific race/culture of person. In my time spent in Israel I met some of the most racist people I've ever met anywhere.
That does not reflect Jews generally though. Many Jews were intimately involved in the fight against apartheid in this country and are currently involved in the fight against racism and sexism all over the world today (as are many Muslims).

You cant hold an entire religion responsible for the actions of a few...in that case the whole of humanity should be held accountable for every evil act ever committed ON THE BASIS THAT WE ARE ALL HUMAN.If people are ignorant enough to use the ideology incorrectly it doesn't mean that the ideology is incorrect,we are human and we have free will to choose regardless of under what influences we live/grow up.And most intelligent people can manipulate their sub concious easily/and these perpetrators are normally of that type.

Oh wow, I really didnt have the insight you had into the arms deal. I honestly thought South African tax payer money was paying for those weapons (you know.. that multi billion rand arms deal.. one of the biggest in our entire history...), guess I got it all wrong and they were funding it out of their pockets :rolleyes:

Shu, Im so relieved the South Africans didnt get screwed over.... oh wait... they did. We paid for their corruption. But hey... whats a little corruption amongst friends? Only person getting hurt is the tax payer.. no one important so dont worry... its just a "business deal"... its not like SA desperately needs the money or anything....

Must be so easy for you to gloss over major crimes like that to suite your argument.

So again I put it to you, if I cant trust the Shaiks to look after South Africans above money why should I trust them to put South Africans ahead of their religion?

Defending Shabir Sheik is a something I would think carefully about doing! I have no grudges against Jews or Muslims, but against someone who has blatantly abused power and the legal system in South Africa... I do!

Corruption definitely screws over South Africans and making a mockery of the legal system make a mockery of the country!

I'm not defending him. But does the fact that Shabir Shaik is corrupt and muslim now mean that (all or any of) the Shaiks must be involved in global terrorism against Jews?
There is NO evidence of any involvement in terrorism by any of them
