Jerusalem rabbis 'condemn dog to death by stoning'

The dog entered the Jerusalem financial court several weeks ago and would not leave, reports Israeli website Ynet.

It reminded a judge of a curse passed on a now deceased secular lawyer about 20 years ago, when judges bid his spirit to enter the body of a dog.

The animal is said to have escaped before the sentence was carried out.

One of the judges at the court in the city's ultra-Orthodox Mea Shearim neighbourhood had reportedly asked local children to carry out the sentence.

An animal welfare organisation filed a complaint with the police against a court official, who denied reports that judges had ordered the dog's stoning, according to Ynet.

But a court manager told Israeli daily Yediot Aharonot the stoning had been ordered as "as an appropriate way to 'get back at' the spirit which entered the poor dog", according to Ynet.

Dogs are considered impure animals in traditional Judaism.

Your last paragraph is a little ambiguous, it makes it sound like it was Muslims who took the dog to court.

The people living in Mea Shearim are all cooked, ultra religeous nuts, tho they're the exception, not the rule and no doubt this will be prevented from happening
 
I don't get the whole possession and stoning story because it seems kinda well weird and doesn't make sense.

If you think it's a waste of time, there's no reason to think that it is to other folk, not to mention a little presumptuous.

The fact that the thread seems to bother you more than the act itself, is a bit weird.

Yea they sound like a bunch of nutters.

Za1 it is not important but i did find it amusing when i read it this morning and honestly it was the only article worthy of a thread. I also love dogs and cannot understand why people would want to stone a poor lil doggie :eek:. Nivek has cleared that up though.
 
Said it before and will say it again... there are crackpots in every sector of this earth.

The fact that Killa thinks this is a Jewish/Palestinian thing is laughable. :D

Errm dude WTF? It could be me i don't recall mentioning jews or palestinians. The article makes reference to the religion but i never did. Not all muslims live in Palestine gary :p

In it you label some Jews as "fking idiots", you use the name of the Christian Messiah, and you reference the Muslims. Care to include the Hindus in your next post?

Anyways i prefer fking idiots to super heroes :D. Yes we always go on about muslims stoning people. No boramk it is a religious thing, they consider dogs impure. I doubt it is mainstream though, seems more like some ******s taking things to far. As mentioned every religion has their bad apples :D.

I just read an update, gary and marine this will shock you, the dog originated from palestine.
