Some &$*# stops in the middle of highway

So we are driving home after a Fathers Day Breakfast and a guy in a Black X5 BMW YFP415GP cuts from a turning lane (solid white line) into our lane and almost causes a huge accident on the highway, I hooted at him whereby he then almost smashed into another car to try catch up to us, he then proceeds to come to a dead stop on the highway, forcing myself, a mercedes behind me and a truck to come to a dead stop, so I went past him and took the next turn off.

Can anyone give me his details? Just PM to me and I will delete the PM, I would like to find this gentleman with a sore heart
 
Sadly it seems that tooooooo many people have been taking lessons from taxi drivers....

Can't help you here :/ but on topic sought of, i drive a bit at 1-3 in the morning.

Nearly every 4th time i drive home there is an incident, overtake someone going 40, then they will give chase and try and ram me off the road. I mean not even 2 weeks ago, i was driving home from monte, i go onto the onramp where the lane becomes 3 into 1, so im going faster so im at the front, oke behind me starts flashing me and going nuts i pull onto the highway, still flashing his brights and going nuts overtakes me and then does the same as you described, just stopped so i went flying past him (who i thne realised was like 4 hims) and just put foot, and pulled off at my offramp. This is happening all to often !! What the hell is up ? i just want to get home for crying out loud.

These okes think they are 'clever d!cks', but i was once with my dad and his friend same ***** happened, oke stopped in front of us and 2 of them got out. My dads friend got out took out his 9mm and fired one into the air and then 2 into the back of these okes car. I've never seen someone **** themselves like those guys did. Anyway thing is they don't know who i am ? what do they think they are doing ? they could act "all big" and i could be a psycho with a gun who kills them, for what ?

We are talking about a BMW driver here, after all...you must realise that rules of the road do not affect them at all....they are above the law.:rolleyes:
 
What if that truck couldn't stop in time and smashed in to the lot of you.
 
Hectic stuff! Good thing is I don't do the highway very often (once every couple of weeks or so), and I always use back roads. It's soooo less stressful.
 
Had guys pull a gun on me because I didn't pull away from a stop sign fast enough for them...

Joburg for sure... Too much of aggression on the roads here.

Joburg drivers will always tell you that Cape Town drivers are the worst in the country but really, spend one rush hour in traffic here and you'd see that simply isn't true. In addition to cutting you off and jumping on the breaks, some of my other favorites are passing you on the left, in the emergency lane, and then cutting right across traffic to get to the fast lane or how about flying past you on the right only to veer left, cutting you off, to take an off-ramp they've nearly passed... My best, best, best thing 'tho are traffic lights... NEVER just pull off 'cos the light has gone green for you in JHB... NEVER. Some d**k is almost guaranteed to have jumped on the gas to blatantly shoot the red light to save himself 30 seconds on his trip to wherever. That same d**k will almost always be on the phone without hands-free and will almost always shout at you to fsck off or flip you the bird if you hoot at him.

EDIT: Forgot to mention... I have a couple of diesel vans. Every now and then one breaks down and you find yourself on the side of the road... Joburg is the only place I know where you'll be off the road, in the yellow lines, hazards on, cones out and... Drivers STILL hoot at you!?

Some guy in Joburg pulled a 0.45 automatic on me after he changed lanes illegally (went straight through a compulsory left and then forced himself into the middle lane over a solid white line) and I hooted at him !

It is exciting here in Joburg, not for the faint-hearted !
 
I guess that's why the crime rate is so bad in Joburg. Full of aggressive morons.

I've accidentally done dumb things in traffic, never had the other person do more than hoot. I just wave or something to apologise. Guess Durban people are more relaxed.
 
Sheesh! This is why I'm so glad that the Gautrain was built - I haven't driven on the highway in Jhb since (radically reducing my personal risk profile)

Try posting this on http://www.facebook.com/TrafficJHB - I'm not saying you will (or won't) succeed in obtaining his name/address from anyone who reads that wall, but by posting his vehicle reg. no. and details, you will be shaming him and, hopefully, helping other drivers to avoid trouble.

Who knows, perhaps a bored 'spietkop' will hunt him down and kick his ass on your behalf! :p

if it were me, move on and let go, no need to cause stress in your life, the guy is an idiot, be a bigger man, what exactly do you think you will do once you have his details?
