How do you do this in the multiplayer game ? It says you can do it in the manual but i am not sure how to do it. Would you order an air strike ?
Thanks

Haven't tested with vanilla BF2, but in SF, you can take it out with a few TV missile shots as well (About 4).
Look for the spinning radar - that allows the enemy commander to perform a full map scan. If you want to prevent localised UAVs, then you need to take out the UAV trailer.

It takes exactly 2 packs of c4 to blow up any single "c4'able" device:
Single Artillery Piece (So one man alone cannot take out the entire battery without support)
UAV trailer
Radar
Tanks
APC
im sure either the uav or radar requires 3 packs!

Nope. 2 packs.
Only thing that needs 3 packs are bridges.
i'm gonna have to test this, i would have put money down that the trailor takes 3 packs!

I often go harass enemy commanders, so I know how many packs it is for each item. :)

TV Guided missiles on the Cobra also do the trick.
ok, now i'm gonna have to load this up at work and go check it!
yip, only takes 2, maybe pre patch it took 3!

The important question is:
If you drop your c4 in a pile on the ground, does the number of packs determine how high you go when you detonate . . . .

In multiplayer switch Friendly fire off... then you can use the C4 to get up high places.... don't forget to use your parachute though!!!

Having done this with XEye a number of times (:)), I can honestly say that the answer is yes. ;)

You can take out an APC & Tank with one c4.
Turret of the APC
Tracks of the Tank

Person it is possible, the tracks of the tank are extreamely weak.

It's called critical hit, most of the time hitting the tracks of the tank (with a TOW or AT) in the front or back will do a hell of a laot of damage but not destroy it... however on ocasion (or maybe always with C4) it will destory the tank from full health... developers say it's luck not skill, hehe.
Another trick is with choppers, hit thier wheels with an AT or tank shell and they blow up imediately.
You should get the damage illustrations to see where the most damage is done.

1.1.2? Maybe, I haven't tried.
In 1.2 all air vehicles will be alot weaker and AA will be more effective... great! Assult here I come.

Patch by patch they get it right. I wonder how much of this gamefix info they carry over to other games. Before BF2 was BFV and BF1942. Is BF2 the first of them to really take off online? Who played the other two online, were there so many bugs?

I played BF1942 online - was excellent - no bugs - different game though - no running, but - a well placed shot could kill a tank in one SHOT ! Yea.
BFVietnam was okay - but had difficulty not being killed in 0.0001ms flat, and choopers were a b!tch to fly. Was buggy - was not heavileee supported.
BF2 - well - it's a work in progress, and I SAY - so far so damn good !
