I have a Intel Dialogic DI0408LSAR2I card.

Has anyone used this card with Asterix, or Asterix@home?

Intel description {It is a DM3-based full size board with a single slot, four analog loop start interfaces, eight analog station interfaces with ring capability, an audio input port and voice-over-IP (VOIP) capability. It is PCI form factor and includes an internal power supply.}

You got no chance at the moemnt, maybe later ;)

The only Dialogic boards supported by Asterisk (because they have a similar design philosophy as the Digium/Zaptel) as those of the JCT family.

Thanks for the info. Pity. I wanted to make myself a box where I could call in using my spare office phone line, and then put the international number, so that I could be at home and still make a long distance call using the Internet connection at work. Maybe you have a suggestion, for a cheap way of doing it since I can't use my Dialogic card. I need a FXS module somehow.

one ATA can do that. Sipura SPA 3000 or Grandstream HandyTone-486 are most common cheap solution

if you got telkom ISDN line, the Duxbury ISDN PCI card is a cheap sulotion, you can get 2 chnnels at same time and can serve muitlnumbers.

That intel card is an expensive card, they use it in call centres with Televantage VIOP software, where did you get it?

We got it from overseas, for a research project for Wits, but the guy who ordered it ended up not using it. And he did not get drivers, or the power supply (maybe one of the reasons why he did not get it working) :( , and later he found out there is a South African distributor, but ...
Basically it is sitting on a shelf in my office, and nobody is using it.

Hi renm, where can I find info about installing the Duxbury ISDN card? I searched for a dealer and at Digitalplanet.co.za they are about R258, which seems the cheapest way to experiment, considering I have a ISDN lines that is also gathering dust. (http://www.digitalplanet.co.za/shop/levels.asp?intStockLevelID=229) . What would the setup look like? Can two people phone the asterix server using the ISDN lines, and then it uses the local network to connect to the voip peer, or is one line used for the data connection to the peer and the other for the incoming voice call?

I did two installations using Duxbury ISDN card with Telkom multi number residential ISDN line (ISDN2a). You need the bristuff patches and there is a script will do all the jobs.

you can got the script here:
http://brightheadtechnology.com/other/aah/install-bristuff-ZAPHFC

the script will check new version itself, if there is a new, just download it and run the script again.

you need to install A@H 2.2 iso first, then copy the script to any folder, make it executable then fire it like this:

./install-bristuff-ZAPHFC -a 1.2.2 -f u

this will work for Duxbury ISDN card and Telkom ISDN line.

ALL numbers will handle properly, incl. incoming FAX (setup a inbound router for fax), you don't use ZAP channel for VOIP peer, setup your VOIP peer with your VSP via internet connection.

happy playing A@H

The link to the script is broken. Can you post the script?

Where does one get the Duxburys? I used to get them from Miro but it seems both Miro and Duxbury themselves have stopped selling them. There are still some places that advertise them, but then you phone and they say, "Sorry, no stock" because they generally used to source them from Duxbury.
