@ic: its a 91% alchol cleaner...cleans the best when it comes to heatsincs/processors...mind you, some turps/toothpaste does the job just aswell :)

Nice Ram, i got 512Mb at the moment - cost me an Arm, leg other leg and some fingers but its worth it.

Which Corsair Ram is that one, as Rectron the distributor in SA has several versions?
I have two sticks of 512MB Extreme Low Latency Corsair in my setup.
Had no issues so far and I have pushed the ram beyond its spec limits.
I have read reviews which say the OCZ is good.
I think with the newer Mobo's it's not how low the latency can go like the NF2 boards where CL2 was needed, but how high one can push the FSB, more than likely @ 3:3:3:11 anyway. Perhaps the RAM is incompatible with your setup?
Did a quick search on the internet and it seems that some people have had issues with DFI and Corsair and recommend either OCZ or G.Skill. Link.
It seems the Corsair CL2 does fine with DFI. Perhaps yours is not CL2, not that you will be able to run it a CL2 anyway at high FSB?
Where are you going to purchase the OCZ btw?

PS. I am using the Antec Formula 5 Paste on my CPU. I think it is the same stuff with a very high % of silver in it? Available from Frontosa.

Yip,higher memory frequency over tighter timings will get more performance,obv the key is getting the highest freq with the tightest timings...
Say you doing 250 HTT with 1:1 divider,going to 255 with looser timings will gain more performance than doing 250 with tighter timings,although noticing the performance increase in gaming would be questionable to say the least.....running a divider will drop performance aswell as running 2T...

@BTTB:

Its not the RAM which is causing the trouble...its the mobo, it just doesnt like the RAM...

@ EchoDown: ?

@nGaGed: nope, sorry - tis been returned to the kind chaps at Rectron...

Seems like the Cape Town guys are quiet friendly, cos i'v had moerse fights with the guys in PE, and whats also bad is PE gets all the leftovers from CPT :(

and expensive...its cheaper to get from the US and send it to a remailing service :)
