Hi

I did some research on the costs to receive money in a foreign currency (WIRE transfer) with all four major banks. Here are the fees:

Nedbank
R2000 >
R68

R2000 <
R107.50 + 0.485%

Standard Bank
R130 + .45%

ABSA
R100 + 0.35%

FNB
R125 + 0.45%

The first amount is the minimum charge and the second is a percentage of the amount received that is charged over and above the minimum fee. I didn’t note the fee maximum as they were all ranged between R500 – R600.

Hope this helps, because I could find the information any on the internet.

Hi, thanks a lot for this info. Do you have any idea what the fees are for making a deposit to an international bank from a Standard Bank account? I could find this info for FNB but not for Standard bank.

Hi

Random Question, does anyone have the banking details for a large international corporation?
I would like to pay R1 to Amazon(or any large corporation) to test if I am able to make international payments

There is/will be clearly a minimum amount required to be sent internationally.. Swift or Money Xfer(Moneygram,WU, etc)

Would think at least in the $20-50 range, to ensure ppl don't take up banks resources with nonsense.

Why does it have to be a large corporation? Surely any account at any international bank would do?
