Has anyone got any BB VOIP app like Tringme to work?

Has anyone got any VOIP app like Tringme (which supposedly allows users to make & receive free VOIP calls) :love: to work on Blackberry using WiFi / 3G? :confused:
 
The can and only will ever work on wifi, I assume its something to do with their security, but the EDGE/3G modules are set to half-duplex instead of full-duplex meaning only 1 data stream can travel at a time, either in or out. You need full-duplex for voip in order to allow the in and out to operate in a single instance, the closest you will come to voip on the current hardware configurations would be PTT or walkie talkie mode which requires a paid 3rd party app.
 
Is the internet really worth it on the BB?

Or would a phone like the HTC Wildfire Anderoid be a better choice.

Well recently the internet on BIS has been quite far bellow rubbish, i got rid of my berry and am super happy with my android now.

Yeah, if I compare say the HTC Wildfire with the BB 9300 - hardware wise the HTC is better by far! and with Anderoid its far more versatile.

BB should really invest in Anderoid
 
Why is is that whenever someone asks something on BlackBerry it turns into a Android promotion thread? Sure I want an Android for stuff BlackBerry doesn't have apps for, like Skype, but I'll just end up having to carry two phones - can't ever let go of BlackBerry. And as for better hardware, that would be the pending Bold 9900.

B.t.w. on MTN I don't often see BIS issues, if ever, but I don't download much, just browse, RSS feeds, maps, email and chat.
 
The Bold 9900 does sound promising, I wonder what the cost will be.

Data has come down so much in the past few weeks and paying R69 for BIS might not be all its made out to be.

But the topic was getting Tringme to work, I do not know but - Tringme claims that it is "unblockable"

Does not look like anyone has gotten this app? It would be a major plus for people like me looking to upgrade.
