They're [Telkom] quick to charge but not to connect

Welcome to Monopoly service. I reported my lack of ADSL after installation immediately and got a reference number. This was after waiting 2 months for installation with 63 phone calls for installation date and another 48 for the fault. Fortunately I did get a nice credit for R158 off my initial bill of R2300 since I had the reference number.

Telscum service [or rather lack of]

Why is it that it takes Telkom weeks to do and ADSL connection but when I was in the UK, it took a matter of hours. I literally signed up for ADSL in the morning and by the afternoon, I was connected [British Telecom].

The best part of the Telkom ADSL signup process, was being told by the customer care consultant that I needed to phone back and make an appointment with them so that the technician could installed the ADSL line. I needed to phone THEM and not the other way round....hmmmmm Customer Centric..... I think NOT!!!

I think Telkom's new CEO needs to start thinking realistically about their business processes and quality of service before he blurts out the phrase 'Customer Centric' again.

Yeah - I want to know the same thing

Correct me if I am wrong, Telkom, but my exchange is already ADSL enabled. I understand there was a faulty port to start with which has since been repaired... so why am I still waiting... I understand someone has to just visit the exchange and plug something in...

SURELY THAT'S NOT SO HARD TO DO?
