Hi,

When I was putting my card in my case, I pushed a bit too hard and one of the components fell off, I have included a picture of the card and the little part that fell off (has .2.2 FALCO 0415) written on it.

Please if anyone has a clue check out the picture of the part that fell off ->

I tryed to superglue the part back on , it didnt work. I then tryed putting the card in the case and manually put the component on, it worked once then stopped working. Is there anything I can do to get my card working again? If I send it into a computer shop will they be able to send it somewhere to get it fixed?

Depends on where you are - I have a guy here in CT that fixes Graphics cards. I had that happen to one of my cards and it still worked fine. Not really sure what those transistors do, but I’ll try find out.

Superglue probably was not the best idea.

Welcome to the Forum BTW

If you dont know what BTW stands for here it is : By the Way = BTW

Thanks :)

Well I currently just upgraded my system so I could use my 9800 pro with agp,so I went with agp instead of pci-express for the 9800, now I'm stuck with an awesome system and a *** graphics card. Last time it was a kiff graphics card and a *** system.

If I cant get the card working, could I courier you the card for that guy to look at. I'm based in durban/grahamstown. I'm running out of options as this card is just lying around doing nothing.

Yeah, can promise that he can Fix it but its worth a try and he will only charge you if he can fix it. You can post it to me counter to counter via the post office. It’s something like R33.

If it cannot be fixed, go for the 6800GS.
Best AGP vid card at very attractive price.

or just take it to any local tv repair shop and say "can you pls solder this back on" and you will be R30 poorer, but have a working video card.

rburley - any idea when the 6800 GS will hit the stores in RSA ? and at what price, the XFX Extreme OC'ed edition looked very attractive

dude, thats an easy fix!

a proffesional will do that job with his eyes closed!

Yeh, but I tried just putting it there with my fingers, and it didnt boot up!
