BLACKBERRY 9900 Releases in August on MTN!!!!

Just had a nice conversation with MTN coz i am looking to port my line from Autopage....Finally, they cannot fix a billing problem I had with them for about 5 months now. And the nice lady accidently said that I could get the blackberry 9900 when my contract expires in about 2 weeks ;-) Hopefully she doesnt let me down but the way I see it is that if the employees at the call centre already know new model numbers......well the power of deduction :D

I can't wait!!!! or perhaps I can since it's either the new BB or the S2/Sensation. but I prefer the wait for a BB rather
 
Basically she said the new MTN specials release on the 1st of August and I can get the 9900 if I wait. Lets see about that.
 
It should be launched in South Africa some time in August/September but also another rep/agent/dealer mentioned that the deals have already been created for the new Bold Touch 9900. I just hope its correct the launch date I was informed.
 
Im pretty sure RIM is only launching this device in September, is it out in Europe yet?

Apparently its releasing in the UK in August. I have a feeling that the MTN vendors already have wind of the device and are receiving training etc coz usually when u speak to the salespeople they know jack about new devices and very little about current ones.....well only time will tell.
 
I think the only wind received was by you! JK ;)

The device was scheduled for launch in July in UK, BB trained the SPs long before. Now they only anounced it today.
Ill be very surprised if MTN sells this phone in August.

I was told to wait until this month for the BB9900
 
went to pickup my wife's i4 and the rep sales 9900 will be out in Aug. as well!
Can't wait!
 
9900 running OS7 wont be running with the much anticipated QNX.
Was kinda hoping to see something different.

AFAIK, they told me I would not have to pay in on thr 9900 im on a MTN anytime R350. Not sure where the exact contract price would fall but considering they subsidise the I4 quite a bit I expect decent deals from MTN direct.......unlike Autopage.....i mean I had to pay R1300 in for my Samsuck I900......

mycall 500 or something like that. costs me R670pm :( so getting a BB9900 means down grading to a R340pm contract? the phone I have now is the samsung i8910 Omnia HD which is just plain useless for internet. even mtn can't get it setup right!
 
I checked the MTN Direct Online store for their August specials and they don't the have BOLD 9780!!! Does any1 have the MTN printed booklet? Does this mean the BOLD 9780 is now dead? The BOLD 9700 was no longer on sale once the BOLD 3 got released. In my view the 9780 has now been rendered obsolete due to the imminent release of the NEW BOLD 9900!!!!!!!!
 
went to an mtn store yesterday they advise september,what is the normal time frame from when a BB gets released in the states till the time it gets released in SA?

Not quite true the Bold 9780 got released here months later than it was in the states or anywhere else it only came out this year in SA and was released in Germany and the states end of last year around November I think. Having said that, I think the whole idea with Blackberrys new lines is an international release so I would still expect it this month sometime in South Africa.
