Heroes of Newerth now free to play

And the first thing that happens is that their forums crashes..... to be expected from S2. they fail so hard on so many levels

LoL is so sloooow compared to HoN. I like it, but meh, its not as hectic as HoN.
 
HoN there must be a steep learning curve or something cause I tried it and I was so bad and everybody shouted at me!

Yeah very fking steep learning curve. You get a hiding when you start and it takes a while to learn the vibe. Loads of ragers but just laugh at them dude. I swear, DoTa and HoN have given me a much thicker skin to insults than this forum ever could. Mute them if you dont want to hear them. I mute often. Im sitting at 1610psr and I still do it.

Its a tough game to learn, but when you get it, and you find cool people to play with its a better game.

I am downloading it to give it another go. I was also confused with the amount of items etc. etc.

The items are still complex, but they now include a recommendation guide.... so if you dont know your own build follow the recommended build.

I just finished a game where I had a swearing russian. It was hilarious.

I also made an account, downloaded the client, will give it a shot. I'm not really good at this, I enjoyed LoL for the short time I played it, also wanted to try HoN in the past will give it a shot, doubt I'll have it on my harddrive for more than a week.

well if you play on local servers there usually isn't any lag... Depending on your line you should get about 240ms on international servers

Same here. Guess I'll take a break from dota and give it a shot. Hopefully they're a bit more lenient towards noobs.

Yeah I prefer SAHON's pings - but....whats different to the Free hon they have now? I read we only have 15 heroes or something?

....guess its pretty pointless though, I prefer SAHON and will be playing it for a long time.
Even my cuzzy who is a massive HoN freak who has retail, plays SAHON and is building an account (Best account in SA currently, iirc)
....maybe he just plays sahon because he can play along with me then...yeah, lets just say that =)

play against him if you dare! (KillerXI, Blood_Thurst or Conviction) :D
 
luckily you can play non-free games in the sense that free accounts cant join your hosted maps. Got 3 friends who didn'\t want to buy accounts who are now gonna try it. So this was the right decision as long as they support those of us who helped make the game a success.

I'm a bit noob but if you want help add AfricanJedi as a buddy.
 
I like SAHON... when Retail is down. Otherwise I dont see the point. I get low latency games if I want to on retail. You just gotta choose a SA server with South Africans.\

SAHON got monkey king yet?
 
People tend to rage quite when I do stupid things in game or great me with harsh swear words...

I've never really played dota before but I liked hon since I played the beta. Then when it hit retail I didn't buy it till few weeks ago, just before the $10 special -dammit-

But hey if anyone wants to say hi or laugh at my misfortune add me. My username is Dviance
