eCommerce Web Site - Who can do complicated from scratch - No Template Design

I am doing a new website for online shopping. Must be very jacked up. Without revealing too much, I will try to give out specs. Some of it is straight forward.


ECommerce Design - Corporate Look and feel. (nothing funky)
Registered User dependant
Shopping cart
Email Newsletter capture
Email Newsletter app - controlling opt out/in procedure
FULLY DATABASE dependant
User level controlls
Stock system
SMS integrated
Purchase tracking system
Full invoice system
Multibranch control - (Could be future development) Base structure must be built to accommodate for future dev.
Personal user experience - When logged in.
Home page must be customisable - on the fly , user can add sections and subsections or delete ( need to explain in more detail)


This is just a small part of want I want to do.

Well, start with an open source e-commerce system, like prestashop.com - you could have your site up in a month, WITH the custom mods

I've been working with e-commerce open source software for about 4 years now - as a business owner/ and the person who needs to customise I've used Joomla-VirtueMart (k@k), osCommerce (alrightish - but a mission to edit and not fully DB reliant many items reside in PHP code - very irritating), zenCart, based on osCommerce similar issues, a few others I can't remember...

Then oneday I phoned a company that does e-commerce websites said they would charge, get this, R100 000 for a basic site - but they did reveal that they us CS-Cart as a base and build on top of that - they refuse to use anything else.

I got myself a trial of CS-cart and developed this site myself - www.blockshop.co.za - I'm a java programmer so I have no website design background so it's not brilliant but flippin' easy to get up and going - they are miles ahead of the competition.

You can trial it for 90days then pay $185 - TRUST ME - it's worth every cent plus you get free upgrades for the next few years - if you do your research properly you will see they are using the latest in AJAX, script compression, single page checkout, in depth reporting, checking abandoned carts, user stats, linked to google analytics, sms integrated, newsletter management, bulk product add, bulk category add, global product options, loyalty points program etc etc and they are the only ones I found that had PROPER import/export functionality that is customisable + product feeds to make updated data available to affiliates - oh and and an affiliate program (not sure how this works but looks interesting). Seriously brilliant software - written by Russians

I know the sportsmanswarehouse.co.za website is run on it (check my spelling there) and I've seen a few other QUALITY (mantality.co.za) e-commerce sites written on the same. I do not believe there is anything else in existence with the level of customisability out there...

@Twista - will you want to start from scratch or are you going to use an ecommerce system? Like prestashop (setting up prestashop should be quick)
