The bomb squad had to search ANC Youth League president Julius Malema's house twice after he received threats, he said during on interview on Talk Radio 702 on Tuesday.

Listeners were given an hour to call the radio station and ask Malema questions.

A caller asked Malema why he needed bodyguards.

“I have bodyguards because of the possibility of being mobbed and my life has been threatened,” Malema said.

“Sometimes you can’t even move an inch and you need someone to help you survive those things.”

Malema said that in the past two weeks someone in the ANC had claimed to have been offered R1 million to kill him.

During the interview, Malema touched on the issues of nationalisation, the City Press newspaper story on his family trust fund, and controversy about a column published in the Sowetan newspaper.

Last month, City Press reported that Malema was the sole trustee of a secret family trust, registered in the name of his five-year-old son, which he allegedly used to finance his lavish lifestyle.

Following the report, freelance columnist Eric Miyeni wrote a column for the Sowetan newspaper in which he described City Press editor Ferial Haffajee as “an agent for white capitalists”. – Sapa

Well when you threaten other countries and entire population groups then what do you expect is going to happen you dumb w@nker.

Stupid animal thinks he can bite and nobody is going to bite back.

100%

Then again, this could simply have been his tactic to have his goons reinstated.

He should not mind the Bomb, as he likes demolishing his own house.

Yeah... does sound like complete BS to me as well.

an R1m to kill him?.. Again I call BS on that... a hit doesn't go that high anymore, maybe R100k if you ask me.

What do you offer for that price?

A basic job....

If you want creative, then I might charge a premium for my services.

Yet the police don't know anything about it - sounds like BS.

I'm calling BS on that one with you... If there had been a real scare, you don't think it would have been front page news in every newspaper ever?? We'd have had pictures of the street cordoned off, choppers circling, business men sneaking out the back shielding their faces from pesky photographers with their (empty) briefcases. Where are the news pics? Where are the Twitter pics? Where is anything, other than 100% for Zuma, 20% for woodwork's say-so at all? Hell man, Australian police are trying to defuse a bomb strapped to an 18 year old girl in Sydney and its global news right now.

They should search that empty nest in his cranium as well... but they probably won't find much there either.
