Hi folks

You may have noticed that user avatars started in posts recently. This change was not intended, but rather a consequence of template merging to limit potential problems with software upgrades in future.

This raises the obvious question: Should we keep avatars or remove them again?

NO!!! It makes it much easier to identify posters at a glance when reading myBB if they have an identifiable avatar.

Please don't take them away. Surely there is an option in each member's settings to switch them off if they don't want to see them on posts? IPB does that.
 
Keep them - they're not intrusive like I've seen on other forums. I'd prefer to have personalised avatars...

You already have a personalised one. No-one else will choose that freaky two hand thing! :eek:

I love it, but can't seem to figure out how to change my one now.

What am I missing?
 
+1 Keep the avatars, it was a welcome surprise this morning.

If possible add more options or make them customisable.
 
I think we should keep them, but only let 'active members' have them.

So people who have under 1000 posts can't have them.
People who have more than 1000 posts can.

I voted yes, but browsing through the forums I am actually not sure I dig it. :confused:
 
It adds a bit of personality to the names dont you guys think? It might add to the admin that the mods have to do tho.
 
I been a guest for a long time and recently joined and i think the avatars are a good idea. maybe make it so you can upload custom ones after a certain number of posts?
To me huge custom signatures makes a forum look more like christmas tree than avatars.
 
Keep them, but please give us the option to have custom avatars. (maybe after you have a certain number of posts?) Not much I like in the list :)
 
Obviously custom avatars...although that will have to be monitored by the mods. Also less nerdy Matrix avatars please....
 
Me like... keep them, but let us upload our own.
