Pretoria - Members of the Brooklyn police station in Pretoria initially refused to lay charges of assault and indecent assault against two colleagues who allegedly took naked pictures of a detained part-time model.

Station commander of the Pretoria West police station, Colonel Sivanandan Moodley, would not confirm on Tuesday that they knew the identities of the two men who had allegedly assaulted Marina Klopppers, 23. The charges have now been referred to his police station.

"The case is now receiving the immediate attention that it deserves and we will get all the outstanding statements. If there are any merits to the case, the necessary steps will be taken against the police officials.”

Red light

Kloppers, a marketing consultant from Pretoria and her friend, Charise de Wit, 22, were driving in Mayville, Pretoria on the morning of July 21.

Kloppers, the passenger, said they hadn’t stopped at a red traffic light because they felt unsafe. They were then followed by a police vehicle.

Two police officials forced them off the road and both women were then thrown in the police van and after some hours, taken to the Laudium clinic for blood tests.

The police officials apparently forced Kloppers to undress and took pictures of her after she alleged to a nurse that the two had assaulted her.

Just saw her on FB. Very hot, but regardless of hotness. This is absolutely disgusting behavior by the cops. I hope they go to jail and meet their rightful punishment. The kind where they are left weeping on a cold damp floor. I look forward to following this case. Lets see if the cops can mete out justice to their fellow brothers in arms.

Too many cops doing what they want and getting away with it.

Friend of mine was pulled over by the cops this weekend. They wanted to take him to the police station/hospital to do a blood alcohol test, even though they had no breathalyser to determine the need for a blood test. He had to pay a "spot fine" so that he didnt need to go with them. (PS he only had a glass of wine with his supper)

So on her FB she is half naked in underwear for the world to see but she says the cops made her undress and take pics of her?
Errrr right, were they drunk? On drugs?

There is more to this, one of the "suspects" rather victims in this case is diabetic, according to a newspaper report, and became unconcious after being denied a visit by obviously concerned parent(s). The report futher said she had to be taken to hospital, can't remember if by ambulance. Strange that no charge of drunken driving is mentioned. I cannot condone drunken driving though.

Reminds of a situation last year. I saw a person who had jokingly made a statement when asked if anything to declare, that he has a bomb in his pants. He was locked up. But, he became unconcious as well being diabetic. He died whilst in custody. This person was well known, having donated a BMW vehicle to I think the metro or 911 to expedite response to attend to urgent medical situations. I happened to have coffee at the airport that morning and noticed him, as he was trying to pacify a child who had cried as someone was seen off. The child was unknown to him, that's way I noticed him going out of his way.

I need to qualify this: I am sure that these things happen due to a small percentage of incompetent officials. The majority makes us proud. I have seen both sides;and on the receiving end of injustice, tempted to sue for unlawful arrest.
 
Condolenses to the lady if she was victimised. According to the story published the cops did things wrong. But ja, some people are full of stories

Get to be part of your local CPF, then you can call "your" cops if you have problem with other cops doing something wrong...

Those cops deserve to be thrown in jail for life, for betraying the trust the public placed in them! B(

I wouldn't be surprised if the officers were drinking on the job, TBH

Wait the cops made her undress and took photo's of her because she claimed she was assaulted? Hmmm that sounds about right. I am a bit confused here though, did they take photo's before she alleged they assaulted her or after? Did they take the pics so they could prove they never assaulted her?

Was she drunk at the time?

Actually its irrelevant whether Kloppers was drunk or not, because according to the article, she was the passenger.

But still, some things in this story are a bit out of synch in my opinion.
