My Acer TravelMate 8572 has a Sony Ericsson F3307 MBM, but I can't seem to find any info on how to use AT commands from a terminal to send USSD commands to the device. I have tried connecting to COM4, the only port I get a response from, but sending AT+CUSD=1,"*101#" only yields an "ERROR" result. Any advice will be appreciated.

Also send AT* to that port - it will list all of the available commands. Some of those Ericsson F-series modems have three serial ports - 1 for data throughput, one for for AT diagnostics and one for GPS data streams. Sending AT* will also confirm which of these ports you are writing.

Thanks GreGorGy, I'll have look later. That AT* is a nice trick!
