I really struggle to hear and understand people. It's a terrible phone. Do you agree?

And sadly I am aware of the iPhone 4 antenna hotspot. Whenever I struggle with connectivity I check myself to make sure I'm not shorting THAT gap.
 
Well im assuming you did turn up the volume but give us some more info like 1.who is your service provider 2.what software version are you running 3.Do you have a bumper on your phone
 
Nope sorry but I have to disagree with. I had an iPhone 3G and then got the iPhone 4 and had no problems. I eventually sold my iPhone 4 and got an HTC Desire HD because everyone is always going on about how awesome Android is and sadly, not only is Android not as good as iOS but the call quality on my HTC is nowhere near as good as the iPhone 4.
 
I am using a 3gs and I haven't had any problems with call quality.

Can't really comment on this, as I haven't owned an iOS device yet, but my HTC Desire is awesome, incl all the apps, market place, Google support (free maps + navigation) and tight integration (Gmail, G+).

but the call quality on my HTC is nowhere near as good as the iPhone 4.

This I can comment on. The HTC Desire has a very poor speaker, both in-ear and the loudspeaker. HTC have been known to suck in this department. Only real gripe I have with my phone, oh, and the camera quality is mediocre, but again HTC are known to suck with their cameras. Nokia have the best speakers and cameras, and the worst software.

I wish we could combine the software of iOS and Android, and put it on Nokia hardware. That would be an awesome phone.
 
Don't agree with OP. My iPh4 is very clear in-ear, speaker and on headset.
 
Never had a day of issue with my iPhone... Never noticed any loss of signal, no matter how I grip it.
 
Call Quality sounds awesome to me on the iPhone 4?

maybe someone dropped yours in the toilet?
 
I've had a call quality issues with it being on 3G but that was only where I live, else where in gauteng 3G calls are perfect with my iphone 4. Call quality is way better than my Blackberry I used to use.. I'm on MTN.

Probably just me, I think it's because the audio frequency range had been compressed that my brain finds it hard to understand people. But it's been worse with iPhones (3G and 4) compared to my Nokia phones before.

If you are having problems with audio quality on the iPhone 4, then you have a dud phone. Period. The iP4 has excellent audio quality, both on RX and TX.

With regard to RX sensitivity, I also have not found the grip issue a problem either - I seriously can never remember dropping a call...ever. If signal level is not strong, then switch your 3G off. With 3G switched ON, it forces your phone to hunt for a 3G tower - and they are few and far between, compared to a regular GPRS transmitter.

I have the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and now the iPhone 4, and the audio on all of them is impeccable.
 
iPhone 4 is probably the best phone I've owned - no issues with the call volume this side...
 
The original screen protector the phone comes with is not an appropriate temporary screen protector.

My SO's dad went to Vodacom demanding a new phone as his volument was much too low, turns out that plastic covers the speaker. Needless to say i felt daft because he first came to me for help, and I missed it entirely.
 
I sometimes have call quality issues on my iPhone 4, but I think thats more of a signal problem since most times its clear
 
My previous 3G had problems.Dropped certain calls..thought it was ISP but since i got my IPhone 4 everything is perfect.Quality is crystal and no calls dropping.Best phone eva !
 
Personally I blame the networks in SA. I am in the Uk about ever 2 months for +- 10 days and I never have any issues there with my Iphone 3 and now 4 and that ranges from Heathrow to the countryside in NI. I swop to my O2 sim just before the plane takes off at OR Tambo and I have brilliant reception when I land.

Wereas here in Sandton it's almost impossible to have a 5 minute conversation without breaking up, dropping calls and no signal. I often have to resort to land lines just to get things done.

Strange you say that the UK networks are better because I regularly take the train from london to dover and the signal drops more often than a whore's draws along the way - also on o2.
 
yeah I have no problems certainly none that compare to the crap reception in Sandton and Midrand.
