I just got a galaxy tab, and I can't seem to get it to link up to my wifi.

I have a Dlink router that works fine for my wii/3ds. I have an open network, but with filtering. I have added the Samsung's MAC address.

My wii and 3DS would not automatically obtain IP addresses, so I had to enter them manually, as well as the gateway/DNS/etc etc

They work fine, but when I try to connect my tablet, it just says 'connecting', and then 'disconnecting'. The tablet finds the network when I enter the SSID fine. It just doesn't connect and it doesn't even give me a reason.

So frustrated :( Am I being doff?:wtf:

I have no port or proxy information entered. But I dont have this on my wii or 3DS either, so I have no idea where to start.

Ok i rebooted the router and the tablet. (Should have done that first I suppose).

It says it is connected but when I try and access the browser it wont load anything. And I am online right now.

Any help very much appreciated.

I had exact same problem with my tablet(Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim). Fixed by setting router to use different channel! Hope you also find a simple fix...

Thank you for that advice! I will do that if I get stuck again. It work fine during the day but not at night. :/

Check that your D-Link is set to "Allow" the filtered MAC addresses - mine often defaults to "Deny" for some reason, then I have problems - click on allow, then save/reboot.
Is there any interference at night? If it connects during the day, then maybe something else is causing the disconnects - TV/Speakers between the devices, etc
