Oh no guys....me so sad. I had a spot on my screen for a long time now that has been irritating me. Got out the laptop screen cleaner...sprayd on and wiped. NOW LOOK AT IT! Is this permanent?????????????????????? I have often used the screen cleaner and never has it done this.

Can Laptop screen be replaced? I honestly cant afford a new laptop....but that will just work on my tits everytime I use it now!

Any advise??????

yes don't bypass the censor in the thread title

Spray and wipe everywhere else until the rest of it looks like the effed up part :D

You may be able to replace just the damaged film...

Film? What is that? It is strange...this does not look like a bleed. I have seen lcd's that have cracked and it bleeds on cellphones when I book them in for a repair. I just hope this aint going to cost a lot. DAMMIT!

Perhaps Oom RPM will sponsor me a brand spanking new Core I7 lappie seeing that I am so valuable to Mybb?????

/comes back to earth.....hard! lolz

saw somewhere on here how someone replaced the outer film with a new one. No idea personally, I stopped servecing monitors back when they stopped costing over R2k for a 21" CRT

Thank you Astro. Gives me hope. Now just need to make sure all me pronzes are off the HDD before giving it to my sister on Wednesday. *sigh*

i replaced my screen about two years ago. took me an hour or two. cost a few hundred bucks.
or you could wait 3 weeks for a "technician" to do it depending on your brand and their service centre.
it was an acer travelmate. what's yours?

@OP
Don't worry. It's just some of the cleaer stuff get between the film and LCD/plasma pannel. It happens to paintball masks all the time :)

It should evoporate sooner or later.

???

Just replace the outer plastic film, much cheaper than a new lcd.

But how? Where do you buy this new outer film thingy? Is it a question of pull off the old one and stick on the new one? I cant see any film on my LCD?:confused:

No idea, only ever seen them online. Try lcd/tv repair places but you will need a dust free environment to replace it.

Before you do that take a soft cotton sock dabbed in hot water so it's damp and wipe the whole screen. I however suspect you damaged the coating on the film.

mmmm I think Ill just give it to my sis rather and just tell her to tell her guy that I have consulted with experts and it might just be the fim (whatever that is) and he must just change me film if he can :-) With my luck ill put the new film on and not see that a fly has landed on the lcd in the meantime and then land up with a fly permanently embossed on my bloody LCD!
