Replacement DVD-RW drive for travelmate

Hi

My dvd/cd-rw unit on my acer travelmate 2501LC has packed up (5 days out of warantee :'( ) and i want to replace it with a dual layer dvd writer, anyone know where i can get one from?

It's going to be expensive.

Same thing happened to a client of mine and I can tell you now that Acer are going to charge you R1800 to replace your CDRW drive with a DVDRW.

I you install it yourself you might get away with R1500.

For R1300 you can get a nice Asus external DVD writer. It's tiny and works just as well (if not better), although my clients drive could at least still read CDs.
