Hello

My apologies if such a question has already been answered.

Does anyone know if there is any registrar that allows for customers to purchase .co.za domains via PayPal? It'd make my life a bit easier.

Thanks!

Not in this country, and this is about the only one that sells .co.za domains. You may find 1 that accepts payfast, but paypal is still way too inconvenient and expensive a method to use what with FNB being a required bank, paypals 3.4% transaction fee, FNB's 1.5% transaction fee and the unknown currency conversion fee on paypal side too. The risks far outweigh the rewards, any company selling an essentially R50 domain extension would have to almost double their profit margin just to avoid a loss on the paypal transaction.

R50 + 75c + R1.70 = R52.45

Have to "almost double" their profit margin? :wtf:

Yet places charge anywhere from R150 to R300 for it, forget how much its actually going to cost in the real world, you need to work on the "i am greey for profit" conversion scale.

Besides, until all other banks can easily receive paypal funds nobody body will even think about giving a rats ass about using paypal.

As i said, payfast, its a more secure (to a degree) and for more easily accesible payment methond for using vendors. Do t really see how paypal would be easier than a simple eft to uniform and you wont find someone other than uniform selling it cheap enough to make the minimal convenience financially viable.

Given that I won't be able to find a registrar that offers PayPal, what is the cheapest (and most reliable) one of them all?

I just want to purchase a coza domain and point it to my host, nothing else.

why don't you just register it yourself and pay with credit card or transfer? R50

You need to actually host a domain too. Best prices for hosting are Hosting unlimited and you can got o uniform to register your domain yourself. Pretty dam easy to do it, just a long email you need to fill in.
