laptop connection - traffic A through LAN & traffic B through WLAN

right, is this going to be possible?

I need to keep my LAN connection up to the exchange server to keep my mail coming in, but I would also like to keep up to date with news via chrome/IE via the WLAN connection. Not sure if being program specific is going to be helpful at all?

Is this possible?

I have ZERO access to routers, connections... nothing! Only the LAN cable on my desk, and the an iPhone hotspot.

help would be much appreciated

hmm i tried it , failed :(

when my wlan connected to the internet , people could not join my lan connected games etc, so dad disable wlan to use lan again :(

though i think it is possible.
 
No idea how the iPhone hotspot works so i'm going to use my own IPs for an example

PC: 192.168.0.102
Your network range: 192.168.0.1-254
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

iPhone hotspot address: 10.0.0.1

Code: 
route add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 10.0.0.1 metric 10
Set default gateway to iPhone for ALL traffic

then
Code: 
route add 192.168.0.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.102 metric 0

This should tell your PC to route any traffic destined for your local subnet locally using your LAN adapter

*No guarantees that this is exactly right,route commands have always been trial and error if I see a rule is too wide or narrow for the required scope
 
... have a look at my Traffic Splitter application, because this is the kind of thing it was intended for.

You'll need to know the subnet (or IP address) that your exchange server falls in, so that you can add that route to your LAN interface, and then you make your iPhone interface the default connection.
For a single IP address, use the subnet mask of 255.255.255.255.

If you know what you're doing, then you can add persistent routes on your LAN interface. Persistent routes won't work with dialup connections. The persistent routes will always remain in Windows, even after a reboot.
I've helped a friend of mine to use persistent routes on his PC at his office, where his network shares stopped working as soon as he connected to the Internet with his cellphone.
 
Useful commands in cmd
type cmd into run

Route print ( prints all your routes)
route add <IP> MASK <subnet> <GW>

With just your local lan plugged in do a route print and get the 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 address GW
plug in your Iphone hotspot then do a route print get the 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 address GW.
when this is done all you need to do is add the network your exchange server sits on plus local LAN gateway.
ie
ping -a <exchange server hostname> ( to get IP)
route add <exchange ip last number must be 0> MASK 255.255.255.0 <local LAN gw>

Else you could just use the traffic splitter that Meister Pada came up with which looks pretty cool
 
Once you've set up the routing, I would suggest that you do a few trace routes, to ensure that the data is being routed correctly.
eg. in Command Prompt window, type in:
tracert <hostname/IP of exchange server>
tracert www.google.co.za
 
Since you refer to Chrome/IE, I'm assuming you are on Windows. While it is possible to set routes similar to what the other posters have suggested on Windows, it is a bit more difficult, I believe.

The basic approach would be to figure out what networks you need to access via the LAN/ethernet, and set up static routes for those, then set the default gateway to be your iPhone/wifi connection.

One thing to consider, though, is that you may be violating the company's Internet Security Policy or Acceptable Use Policy, by effectively bypassing their firewall and other controls. Since they have chosen to prevent access to the sites you want to reach, one assumes this is for a reason. Bypassing their controls may lead to disciplinary action, and possibly even termination of employment. Your call if you want to take the chance.
