Can any one recommend so after market cooling for my Gainward 6800GT? Reason being is it sounds like a Boeing 747 and I just want something good that will cool effectively and quietly. Water cooling is too expensive and too much maintenance.

I just got the Zalman CU cooler from you(well paid for and will get in about MAX 2 days) and will see how that goes but what does one of these bad boys go for. I do, do a heap of gaming and fanless sounds great in theory but in SA with hot summer temps I am sceptical. Have you dealt with them before?

I have used the fanless before, but the cooling is not as great as with a fan. No noise, no cooling.

A better case with better sound absorption etc could do you well perhaps, placing the case on a carpet surface can cause less vibration or in a corner etc etc....small things add up,also fan controllers are nice for near idle activity,I tend to get absorbed and not really bother on the sound when in-game.....
That being said I will be purchasing 2 zalman VGA coolers pretty soon for my babies.

Yeah, go with the Zalman VF700 Cu (also available with LED for a few more R's) or Vantec IceBerq5, ..near quiet dB, and excellent temp.'s!
Not too expensive either! ..incl. ram cooling sinks..

or any other website or retailer etc. that has them, I'm sure you can find better prices..

No noise no, cooling is rubbish. Quality Fans with 1 or more ball bearings, and the noise is reduced drastically, mostly verging on inaudable.

Indeed,I'm using a zalman 7000ALCU on my CPU ATM,it's great 32Idle-36Load even around that on the hottest of days....Nice noise emission also, only noticeable when pumping the fan to full speed for games...

Ta for the advise. I did notice a difference with my case. Got rid of the kitch, rubbish, useless pierce of toilet handel case for a Chenbro Game Bomb. Besides weighing in at a cool 999Kg's it is by far the best case I have had. The screw less slots suck and I took that out stright away as it does not cater for double slot GFX cards but besides that it is awesome. I see you can pick them, up for next to nothing now.
