All Over...
I have been with the above for about 3 months now, and get very poor performance...if the lines aint slow, their site is off, or the e-mail..I use to be with WebAfrica and had NO probs...those guys are GREAT...Anyone else with sh!tty connections like mine with SAOL?? ( As i am on a 10GIG bandwidth with ****ty connections for R499, id rather spend more money and get decent connection as i usely had with WA )
WA......1march im back with you ;-))

of late SAOL is very slow - service isnt to great and you get less for your money of late too. i would suggest you look at www.ayce.co.za I'm moving to them on the 1st of March. 30Gigs for R680. I would however recommend that you pay on a month to month term as they are going back to court on the 22nd of March with Telkom - should telkom win, theire prices will go up...

Hopefully by then the new Regulations will come into effect and everybody will benifit except Telkom ofcourse :D

I am glad that I've canceled SAOL.

Lately its nothing short of pathetic service.

Slow is not the word and they have the audacity to tell me its either my router or my line, funny that it works well with Telkom's account and to put my mind at ease I purchased a 1GIG prepaid from WA yesterday and it works great.

You know....its a f'n SIN.......ppl running around like rabbits ( me included ) just to find a better deal...Why???...Cause TELKOM F***s every ISP around with their high prices...i think my e-mail addy must have changed about 4 times last year......just by jumping around so i can afford this "speedy" lines..( and to think....Overseas the guys are talking about 8mbps lines )

They are all SAIX accounts, that is the bottom line, you have k@k with WA you will have issues with SAOL and it will be determined by the customer support and who has the best story in the most pleasing tone against complaining about Telkom.

It may be SAIX accounts, but on @lantic and Telkom Internet I havent experienced these many issues (with trying to login and with sending e-mails).

Next stop is openweb IS accounts...

Would you like a gmail invite per chance? Lemme know.

Yes, get an email addy with G-Mail or with webmail - take your pick, Gmail is much better. then you don't need to use the ISP's mail addy's at all, so when you go ISP hopping from month to month, you keep the same addy. - exactly what i do.

Even better, buy your self a domain and host it over seas. You will pay very little and you will have your own email address range for life.

Ive used SAOL for few months now... No problems except for concurrent connections that need to be reset every 2nd month. Good service, price & speed

I've had TERRIBLE service from Saol. Unanswered e-mails, late delivery
of e-mails, phones that ring indefinitely. No customer service to speak
of, although I detect that on the ground there are one or two overworked,
VERY NICE people who are trying to help out. But there's certainly a
management problem. And I've heard Marko has gone to Australia.

With the incredible growth of SAOL in such a short period of time, we have admittedly experienced a staff shortage during the holiday period - we have a whole host of new staff starting in the next few weeks so hopefully all the support problems will be alleviated.

With regards to Marko - he has in fact emigrated to New Zealand - I'm sure he's watching the forums and we all wish him the best over there.
