Media24, website owner fight over '24'

Hmm... I suspect media 24 might be fighting a losing battle. I don't see how you can reserve a commonly used word :) Just as the word "windows" can't be copyright... it's commonly used.

Imagine the chaos if we had to pay royalties every time we said "the" :D

It's like McDonalds going after that family take away shop in Scotland, the guy's surname is McDonald and he named the place McDonald's. I think McDonalds (the big one) lost the case if I remember correctly.

These jokers have actually previously already lost cases as regards to the 24. Amazing that they are now attempting it again. I must admit that my goodwill that I had towards Napers is being rapidly eradicated by jokes like this, Mweb,Multichoice and Kalahari.

I own, home24.co.za and commercial24.co.za......not active websites but have had them for a long time.(Registered in 2003)

Was offered R3500 for Home24 by a 3rd party but I did not take the offer.

HAHA - I can't believe Naspers were going to actually trademark the term "24" :D.

They're never going to win the case and are simply blinded by corporate greed.

FxpForce - So, now that you've owned these addresses for 3 years, what are you planning to do with them? Are you looking for a buyer?

I want to sell Home24, busy negotiating with a possible buyer. Offers are welcome.

UPDATE
-------
1st written offer R5000.00

Now someone should be clever and register 25...........

Intel changed their product range to Pentium, because they could not trademark a number like 386, 486, 586 or 686. What makes Media24 think they can do it?

I own x.co.za. Nobody dares registering a domain name that ends with a X! ;-)

EDIT: I'm gonna trademarked the full stop. Nobody is allowed to use it anymore. I'll sue. ;-) You can use semi-colons or exclamation marks. So now Media24.com will have to be Media24;com or Media24!com.

How about patenting a combination of lines to convey information or meaning?

Ok, lets really go overboard! :D

As far as I know, nobody yet patented the technique by which humans and animals breathe... So, draw some pictures, diagrams and such, write up the whole story, and get a patent! Instant trillionaire! :p
