Mocality, a division of MIH Internet Africa centred in Cape Town currently has a vacancy for a QA Engineer who, reporting to the Head of Technology will be responsible and accountable for developing test plans, working on the test pipeline (from development through to release), producing the outcome reports and managing the testing environment.

Job Outputs
- Develop test plans
- Ongoing manual testing of new product features and enhancements
- Logging of bugs found appropriately for resolution and tracking purposes
- Automate UI regression testing and load test products where appropriate
- Set up and maintain test environments and server
- White/Black box testing, Positive & Negative testing, Boundary testing
- Testing and sanity checks during live deployments
- Produce QA stats and outcome reports where required
- Guidance and mentoring of other QA team members
Skills and Competencies
- Very good understanding of Mobile and Web technology
- Experience working within an Agile scrum team and environment is highly desirable
- Familiar with QA methodologies and tools
(Preferred: JV Meter or similar, Selenium, Hudson/Jenkins/Bromine) - Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to test meticulously and thoroughly
- Analytical
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Good communication and comfy working with development staff
Qualifications and Experience
- BTech or Degree preferred
- Formal QA qualification preferred
- Scrum experience preferred (Jira scrum tool experience beneficial)
- 4+ years overall experience
- Minimum 1 years test experience in a Mobile environment
- Minimum 1 years test experience in a Web environment (Microsoft and/or Open Source)
- Familiar with software testing tools for Web applications
- Familiar with setting up a testing server and configuration of UI and load testing tools for Web applications (e.g. Windows server2008, Selenium, Hudson/Jenkins/Bromine/etc, JVMeter, etc..)
