I think he knows its a lost cause as our Government makes a brick wall seem like a customer relations godsend.

Ubuntu is not nearly ready for the ordinary user unless i comes with the computer ... they are too many difficulties in trying to get it to work with the hardware ...
 
So where is Google Talk, Google Desktop, Google Earth, and Picasa for Linux ???.

Can't believe people believe this rubish, it is a rumour that started on a BLOG site.
 
Just as a side note: I just downloaded Puppy linux, havn't ahd a chance to play with it but it looks like i could be more compatable than ubuntu ... just needs a better GUI

The rumour is that Google will ship a thing call Goobuntu which is not true ... but Google does use Ubuntu internally and that has been acknowledged by Google itself.

I just went to thier site, did I read right, 60MB? Where do they put the drivers?
 
Nope, you should be looking at an image file of approx. 670Mb.
Installed it last week, good GUI and much fatser than Win XP.
Instructions manuals are also on the site.

Give it a couple of years and you'll have Linux wiping it's ass with Windows.
