Why? how much would you want to spend on a mobo then? :confused:

You can get a very decent mobo for bout R1300, which is bout the difference between the AGP 7800GS, and PCI-E 7800GT

Its the old problem. Switching MB=switching processor and switching ram. combine these costs with the cost of actualy buying the card and you got a big number.

Essentialy If i'm gonna switch MB i might aswell just buy a new system.

And that will cost well over 15K

But you dont HAVE to switch everything! Going for the GS, IMO is not very clever, since you can switch to a PCI-E mobo and get a GT that will perform much better for the same price, as long as you dont go and switch every single component. And if you buy the GS you anyway arent going to go buy new components, so why do so if you buy a GT?

Im sorry, but switching everything just because you're getting a new mobo just doesnt make sense to me.

agreed - just a new mobo+ processor at first + Graphics card.

Should cost you about 4.5k

eg. MSI RS480M2 AMD 939 Mobo (R900) + Amd Athlon-64 3200+(R1300) + 7800GT (R2500)

Total = R4700

i had to switch everything when i did my upgrade in january ram,cpu,mobo and gfx and btw if u wanne get a 7800gt rather get an amd 3.5 and not 3.2

I had to upgrade ram as well cos my pc still used old sdram :D

Is the extra 10% worth the extra R600?

@person can you give me a price on the socket 939 AMD 3200+ and 3500+ please, if you are out there
