Hi

Please post all NEW SA available Phones built for Win 7 Phone Mango.

(This is not for old phones that can be upgraded)

Seen as the update only came out in the last week or so I doubt there will be any. Maybe people should list those phones that can upgrade to Mango as well. Specs are set high for WP7 phones so there shouldn't be a problem in the mention.

Yeah, i understand that the update is still very new, but i would imagine that MS, manufacturers and service providers should at least have been planning for this for a while.

If this is not the case then WIN 7 Mango is little more than a bad backyard mechanic porsche kit for an old beetle chassis. It may look like a porsche but we all know it's still a beetle underneath :erm:

I'm due for a new phone contract and that's all i want.
Not an old phone that i have to fiddle with .....

Lab88, the Leaf shop, told me in writing that they won't be bringing in the Titan and Radar - they had taken a decision not to import any "Windows Mobile" phones. I raised the issue with the WP manager at Microsoft SA to wake them up.

Wonderful..... so much for seriously trying to take on the Android / iPhone market.

I suppose MS is already making enough off every Android phone without having to do anything ...

Totally correct, I just wish our f'ing service providers would actually try out the phones and actually market them. Putting them on sale for a month and then removing them because of no sales is retarded. Of-course they wont get sales if every consultant just recommends Android!

Im pretty confident Nokia will change this though, because SP's are used to them and won't even realize or case what OS they have.

Seeing that HTC is not interested, I guess Nokia will be coining it again in SA. They are after all still the leading cell Brand in SA. I am looking forward to the Nokia Windows Phones releases.

Here is the Nokia Sun (701?) Link

Walked into one of the many network franshises this morning and all the sales person wanted sell to me a Galaxy S2 Andriod, on my inquire for a Omnia 7 - "sorry no stock" and cannot tell when they will have stock. Was told again to take a Android S2 again and was informed that the Omnia 7 has not got Bluetooth etc.

The networks and their franchises do not wish to promote or market the WP7 devices this is a fact. This is not an new problem but as old as the hills, I can recall showing a WM 5 Qtec phone to a salesman long before the networks supported these devices, never the less the sales person eyes only widened in suprise to the use of Push/Pull Email and MSN Messenger IM long before BBM and other Bullsh*t programs.

I think that Huawei is going to flood the market with well-priced phones. This will stir the profiteers.

It would be nice if rbm would release a wp7 on their 200 contract. I need the data and would prefer not to go with android.

I am very disappointed that LeafSA and Lab88 wont be bringing anymore WP7 phones to SA. Their whole attitude stinks tbh, wont be buying from them anymore.

I know Samsung will still bring in more Omnia 7, not sure about other models.

I am confident that Nokia RSA will be bringing in their WP7 phones i.e. Nokia Lumia 800. I like the new Nokia Drive and Nokia Music apps :D

I defintly looking at getting the Nokia Lumia 800 :)

Doesnt anyone know if it supports tethering?

hey guys I spoke to an HTC salesperson over the weekend and according to him leaf has been dropped as the official HTC distributor and that HTC themselves will b marketing their own phones. Not sure how true this is. I showed him my HTC Mozart and he was impressed when I gave him a quick walkthrough. In he end he hoped to see HTC bring in these phones.

My wife's contract expired in September just in time for the WP7 upgrade and new handset announcements. She loves my WP7 phone and decided not to upgrade right away and wait for the new WP7 releases. It now looks like the first new 7.5 hardware will only arrive in Q1 (probably as late in Q1 as possible) onto our shores. She now decided she will upgrade but not to Windows Phone (no use upgrading to a 1 year old WP gen 1 phone). Maybe next time. Why does it take so long for WP7 handsets to become available in SA?
