i just signed up for a openweb 384 gold account at open web.
They sent me some random link and a password or something.
I organised to get a telkom line which is getting installed on friday.
But my brainwave was that my girlfriend has a 1gig telkom internet account.
Could i use the openweb gold account on my girlfriends modem somehow and bypass her telkom account. if you see what im getting at. Or should i rather just get my own telkom line at my own place and then buy a decent router.
 
Hahahaha you just need to log into her router and set the user name and password to yours then change it back when you get your line.
 
Awesome. So i can start the downloading now already? how do i log into her router?? she has one of those useless 360 duo or something from telkom.
 
open your broswer and type in 10.0.0.2, this should be router address as that is default one for telkom router.

the username and password should be admin and admin, that is normally default.

after that you should be on the router, where there should be easy a WAN setup option, which will ask you for details which then use the openweb details they emailed you.

though my cousin duo 300 telkom router username as password was not admin, was the telkom account details so keep that in mind.

Shouldn't you be doing other things with your GF than using her modem?
 
You people. ai. what is a good router for me to get. i set up my account on the ladies line. she is on holiday by the way. but the speeds are useless. i cant even open a site like rapishare or so. if i start a download it starts fine then get throttled or shaped untill the download gets cut off. that is useless. im not doing anything wrong. tried it with forefox,download helper, downthem all and internet explorer. is this really what uncapped is about?? i call BS
 
I get the impression the OP is in a hurry. It seems as though he's running around with the keyboard while typing...or using a cellphone :p
 
jimmy you need to check your backbone, by doing speedtest.net it will tell your isp, if you are on internet solutions, it will be slow though the day, email [email protected] so he can have a look at your account.
