Steve Jobs kept a tight grip on Apple

Steve Jobs was truly a man with vision, let's just hope someone will be able to step up to his level and sustain Apple's market share.

Well to be honest Tim is a numbers man, that plus the teams that Steve created will still go well into the future.

The question is just will the iPad be the last gadget from Apple that broke the mold of said market.
Apple didn't invent the markets they entered they re-engineered it, totally changing how we see/use them.
 
Apple's success is/was built on four pillars: Steve Jobs + Woz + Jonathan Ives + Tim Cook ... each bringing substantial (but different) strengths to the company. Jobs was the leader that brought out the best in each. If the remaining three stay and keep on functioning as they've done to date (stick to the recipe) the company will keep on doing great things. I will get very worried when Ives and/or Woz walks out.
 
Wozniak is the real innovator at Apple, and Ives is the guy that makes it all beautiful and desirable. Cook is the guy that looks after production, sales and profit (and he is very good at it).

Funny you should mention Woz.... He is by far my fav Apple man to be honest.

Many people dont know how much he really does for Apple, even with the fact that he never wears a suite or goes to the office at all. There is a reason the man gets a Fat paycheck from Apple.
 
Woz has been trying to get Apple products to be more open ... to change the walled garden a bit. It may just happen now.
 
As much as I hate to say it but Apple will not be as innovative without Jobs, Apple will just ride the final wave of projects started b Jobs. I hope I'm wrong though.

As long as Wozniak is there innovation will not stop. Jobs wasn't the innovator. Jobs gets the credit (and Woz was always okay with that to some degree). Wozniak is the genius in the back room where nobody is allowed in.
 
I will not be surprised if Wozniak were to be given a more prominent role at Apple now ... pulled away from his other "jobs" (Fusion-io, etc).
 
Wozniak (from Wikipedia): His favorite video game is Tetris. In the 1990s he submitted so many high scores for the game to Nintendo that they would no longer print his scores, so he started sending them in under the alphabetically reversed "Evets Kainzow".

There is 2 types of innovation, Jobs was a idea man not a tech man, he had ideas on what he wanted to do not how to get there.... that was Woz's Job.

To place it how I see it:
Mock-up example, Steve would go I want to take photo's with this device, Woz was the one that innovated the camera workings and small enough to fit the space Ives designed.
 
The way I see it is that Jobs was a great salesman and had good ideas. Wozniak was the guy who made it happen.
 
In the CNN video Woz says exactly that. Jobs was the "high-level guy". Others made it happen at the lower levels.

Woz's own involvement is somewhat of a mystery. He would deny direct involvement but I've read many times of how he consulted in the background ... Jobs wouldn't move ahead unless Woz had time to mess around with the stuff.
 
It says on wiki that Wozniak :

Wozniak permanently ended his full-time employment with Apple on February 6, 1987, 12 years after having created the company. He still remains an employee and receives a paycheck.[4][7] He is also an Apple shareholder.[8] He also maintained connections with Steve Jobs until Jobs' death in October 2011,[9] although in 2006 Wozniak stated that he and Jobs were not close friends

So he had no hand in any of the 'i' things?
