Westboro Baptist Church plans to picket Steve Jobs Funeral

Westboro Baptist Church informed the Twitter universe Wednesday night of their intentions to protest the funeral of Steve Jobs, the Apple CEO who died on Oct. 5, 2011.

Here's the good part: They did it via Twitter for iPhone.

Margie Phelps, daughter of the church's founder Fred Phelps, announced on Twitter that the church would protest his funeral.

"Westboro will picket his funeral," she tweeted from her handle @MargieJPhelps. "He had a huge platform; gave God no glory & taught sin."

Of course, this is the same small Kansas church that has gained coverage through its protesting at funerals for United States soldiers. They say that God caused the soldiers' deaths because the U.S. allows gays and lesbians into the military.

"No peace for man who served self, not God," she later tweeted, with the hashtag #hellgreeted him. "Westboro must picket."

Oh, and it gets better. Presumably because some of her nearly 4,000 followers attacked her back on Twitter, she later tried to defend her earlier tweet. She did this by saying that God had created the iPhone, not Jobs and Apple, for this exact purpose.

"Rebels mad cuz I used iPhone to tell you Steve Jobs is in hell. God created iPhone for that purpose," she wrote.

She added a smiley face. There was no ironic face.

Jobs, under whose reign Apple made splashes with revolutionary devices like the iPad and iPod in addition to the iPhone, died Wednesday night after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

These guys are funny as hell, fred phelps sermons on youtube and on their site are hilarious, he is a comic genius.
 
I watched the Theroux documentary. I reckon Phelps Snr had a gay relationship with someone at uni or college and the other dude dumped him. Since then he's been bitter and vindictive.
