Since iOS 5 will be mainstream pretty soon I was wondering what the new features are that you're enjoying the most?

For me the split keyboard makes two thumbed typing so much easier. :)

The Android notifications system :) And I agree, the split keyboard will make things a lot better.

wonder if my wife would want to update her iphone. i assume you simply plug it into your pc and let itunes update it? i most probably have to download a newer itunes as well i bet. pft.

You do require iTunes 10.5 which is already available.

For those that want a non-itunes download link it will most likely be hosted here!

My firmware updates via itunes in the past have NEVER completed so ill rather use a download manager to get it! I think earliest we will have it is at 7PM....

Still waiting... tick, tock, tick, tock... looking forward to taking photos like a Boss!

Safari browser tabs

iCloud will be useful but I'm still a little unclear how it will work exactly

Couldn't tell you - my iPhone is too old. :o
Irrespective, at 3.5" the screen is small enough to easily access the full keyboard in portrait or landscape mode. What you mean too old? Which one you using? They all 3.5"

Too old to run iOS 4.5 let alone 5.

Oh, sorry!!!

What is useful is the 5 row numerical keyboard.

felixbruns don't host firmware - they merely make the links available for your download mananger's pleasure :)

I hope it runs well on a 3GS.
it does - quite well too - I've done 3 already. Installation process is a bit slow but then it's all good. 3GS seemed snappier afterwards to boot!

I think on the iPad that's very useful but on the iPhone?? Pretty pointless or am I wrong?
AFAIK this is an iPad ONLY feature - superfluous on the iPhone

My favorite features are:
1) Being able to use the phone while it's syncing
2) Reading pane in safari
3) notifications
4) being able to set a default reminder time

Safari browser tabs

I'm currently running iOS 5 GM on both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. The safari tabs and dual keyboard are only on the iPad, not on the iPhone.

- notifications are a cool feature
- iMessage is cool, really cool (uses your email address / phone number
- iCloud / wi-fi syncing with iTunes is also quite a nca feature
